With Memorial Day at the end
of the month
we salute our brave heroes in the armed forces
with a Military Salute, Yankee Doodle Medley, Over There and It’s Great to Be Back in the Army,
a Bing Crosby/Danny Kaye song from White Christmas.
We end the CD similarly with tributes to our country
including America, God Bless America and God Bless the USA.
In between, well that’s a different story. (continued below)

Cinco de Mayo is in May so we need to go South of the Border. The
Kentucky Derby is in May as well so we need to go to the Camptown Races
and also sing the song that Dan Fogelberg made about that famous race called
Run for the Roses. Then speaking of flowers, April showers bring May
flowers as in the shape of Tip Toe Through the Tulips. Charles
Lindberg made the first transatlantic solo flight on May 2, 1927 so we have
included Come Fly with Me. Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville is
here because Memorial Day is approaching and that makes us think of summer.
There is even a day in May called No Sock Day, a perfect occasion to sip
that margarita. In the Good Ol Summertime is our other summer preview
song.
We conclude with our tribute to mothers of course because Mother’s Day is in
May. There is the traditional song called Mother. Then there is a
song I wrote for my mother called How Can We Thank You? We can’t
leave mothers-in-law out of the picture so we have that exact song Mother
In Law! Enjoy!
